Nova Drift is an action roguelike (created by one person), which was released in its 1.0 version a few days ago. Many players would like to see this indie game on other platforms, like Switch, Xbox or PlayStation. Is it possible? Yes, but it will not happen soon.

Nova Drift – Console (Switch, Xbox, PS5, PS4) Release

We need to remember that Nova Drift is an indie game created by one developer. It is a long way for a single person to create a good game and port it. However, Chimeric on his official Discord channel confirmed that he would like to release ND on all major platforms (“I will try to port to every major console after full release”), he also confirmed a few times Nintendo Switch version. It means that we can expect console ports at some point. It is hard to say when, though.

So, what can you do to speed up the process? Of course, Nova Drift popularity is a key factor here. In the FAQ (which can be also found on Discord, too) we can read that:

Indie games with little to no marketing budget like Nova Drift depend on positive reviews to convince content creators and streamers to spread the word about the game, as well as to entice larger businesses, like consoles, to work with us.

As you can see, good reviews and exposure is a good start. More people play Nova Drift, the closer is the day of console release. Of course, we need to remember that even with that, it will take some time to port the game. So, be patient and support the developer.
