UPDATE
Slitterhead was officially showcased at SGF 2024. Below you can watch the gameplay trailer, which confirms all the information given earlier.
Original news
We learned today that Civilization VII will likely be announced at Summer Game Fest 2024, but that's not the end of the premature news. Slitterhead, a new game by Keiichiro Toyama - the creator of Silent Hill was also supposed to see its first gameplay at SGF.
Nevertheless, the dev mistakenly released this material earlier, and even though it is no longer available on the official Bokeh Game Studio channel on YouTube at the time of writing these words, the world has already become acquainted with the developers' plans. The gameplay itself can be seen on the Gematsu website.
We also found out about the platforms Slitterhead will be available on and its release date. The game is heading for personal computers, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and will be released on November 8th of this year.
While we wait for the official game presentation, which will likely include the disclosure of specific information about it, let's remember that Keiichiro Toyama, the developer in charge, is well-known to horror fans and needs no introduction. Besides the first Silent Hill, over the years he has supervised, among others, games in the Siren series.
After the second installment's premiere, the dev decided to partially return to his roots, despite having made a kind of "jump to the side" and delivering two installments of the Gravity Rush series with the team he led. While it appears that Slitterhead will emphasize action over fear, the designs of the enemies already resemble those from classic horror.
