Nokia Tops Samsung (and Pretty Much Everybody Else) in Android Updates
Nokia is a company somewhat forgotten by the users, but the brand has not disappeared from the market. Not only that! The latest report shows that in terms of updating Android Nokia is the leader among all manufacturers.
Nokia may be a shadow of itself today, but there is a category in which the manufacturer is a few lengths ahead of the competition. It's about the efficiency of updating the Android operating system. According to Counterpoint Research, 96% of the manufacturer's smartphones have already received an update to Android 9 Pie since the third quarter of last year.
For comparison, it is worth mentioning that in the case of other major players on the mobile market, the situation looks a bit worse. Although Samsung, Xiaomi and Huawei are still in the range above 80%, in the case of other brands it does not look so good. Lenovo and Oppo achieved less than 50%, while LG, Vivo and others have less than 20%.

Statistics are also available that indicate the speed at which a manufacturer responds to new software versions. According to the data, 80% of Nokia phones already have the latest version of the system. For comparison, it is worth noting that Samsung (second place) has the latest version of the system on less than half of its devices.

Analysts point out the issue of efficient updates, especially that, as research has shown, customers are less and less likely to exchange their phones for new ones. Frequent updates not only improve the performance of our phone, but also increase the security of us, users.
