No Further Additional Content Planned for Final Fantasy VII Remake
Tetsuya Nomura, the director of Final Fantasy VII Remake, denied that there will be more DLC for the refreshed edition of the legendary jRPG in the near future. At the same time, he admitted why the character Yuffie had to be introduced through additional content.
On June 10, 2021, an enhanced version of Final Fantasy VII Remake subtitled Intergrade will hit PlayStation 5 . Along with it, Square Enix will also release a DLC introducing Yuffie to the game. Fans of the series began to wonder whether the story, divided into parts, will be additionally shredded with smaller expansions. However, in an interview with Famitsu, game director Tetsuya Nomura denied any further DLC being in studio's plans (via Game Informer).
The creator of the seventh installment of the legendary jRPG series stated that the original plan was only to port FF VII Remake to PS5, and not to create DLCs for it. However, the technical nature of the Intergrade version forced the developers to release Yuffie's story as DLC. The team is now focused on working on the next installment, fully adapted to 9th-gen console environment. At the same time, they are working on two mobile titles: FF VII: The First Soldier and FF VII Ever Crisis, so there is currently no room to create additional content.
Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade will hit PS5 on June 10, 2021 with a free upgrade option for the PlayStation 4 version (the offer does not apply to those who received the game as part of PlayStation Plus). The release date of the continuation of Cloude Strife's story is not yet known.
