Nintendo Announces LEGO Super Mario
A short trailer and announcement of LEGO Super Mario appeared on Nintendos official Twitter profile. For the time being, we don't know whether it will be a series of physical lego sets under the license of the legendary platform game or a bigger collaboration between companies, which may result in new games on Nintendo Switch.
The official Twitter of Nintendo's American branch unexepectedly announced that "Something fun is being built", meaning LEGO Super Mario. The tweet is accompanied by a short and vague teaser on which we can see a minifigure of Marios. The LEGO Group has been tagged in the post, so we are very likely to be dealing with physical sets of bricks, using the license of the legendary platform game. Of course, this would not be the first time that brick sets based on a video game will hit store shelves. Recently, Overwatch and Minecraft have been honored with their own sets.
Of course, it is also possible that the toys will be accompanied by a new game for Nintendo Switch, which will be developed by the Japanese company. In recent years Nintendo was quite open to various types of collaborations, as exemplified by Mario Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. In this case, we should expect an early announcement during one of the upcoming Nintendo Direct streams, regularly appearing on YouTube.
What is more, it's worth noting. that in the coming years the company is preparing a real promotional offensive for the Super Mario franchise. In two years a full-length animation about the adventures of the bearded plumber will appear on cinema screens, and a little earlier the huge Super Nintendo World attraction will open its doors in Universal Studios theme parks in Japan and the USA.
