Nex-gen Hair in FIFA 21
With the new generation of consoles, FIFA 21 enters a new level of realism. EA Sports has implemented completely new player hair physics on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Many may be surprised, but the difference is huge.
Since yesterday, the next-generation update of FIFA 21 is available, and today the native next-gen version of the game debuted. If you have purchased EA Sports' game on the PS4 or Xbox One, you will receive the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition at no extra charge.
FIFA 21 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S offers slightly better visuals, improved loading times and activity cards (only on Sony's console). The developers have also implemented a new system of player muscle animation and hair physics, as can be seen in the video comparison below, prepared by youtuber Cycu1.
The technology was created by DICE, which developed the Frostbite engine that powers most Electronic Arts games. If you are interested in the technical aspect, a presentation from Digital Dragons is available online (see below). Jon Valdes and Robin Taillandier, engineers from Electronic Arts, talk about the solution implemented in FIFA 21 among other things.
