Amazon Games announced the suspension of work on the Russian version of New World, a popular MMORPG that debuted last year.

Stopping work on Russian language version of New World - what we know:

  1. The reason, of course, is Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
  2. This decision was announced by TechRadar in an interview with Vice President of Amazon Games - Christoph Hartmann.
  3. Amazon Games has only stopped work on localization. The game is still available to Russians, as Steam continues to operate in that country.
  4. Amazon is one of the companies that support Ukraine financially. The corporation has declared that it will double the amount paid by its employees for this purpose.
  5. It is worth mentioning that the latest Amazon Games hit, Lost Ark, is also available in Russia, but the game debuted there much earlier and was published by a local company Mail.ru. TechRadar editors reached out to the Korean studio responsible for the project, Smilegate, to ask if they intend to continue supporting the Russian version of the project, but so far have not received an answer.

New World debuted on September 28, last year. The game is available exclusively on PC.
