Beta of Amazon's Highly-anticipated New World Begins
Today at 9 AM PT closed beta tests of New World, the long-awaited MMORPG from Amazon Game Studios, have begun. It's a good opportunity to try out the game before the August release.
After a long wait and several postponements, New World, the MMORPG from Amazon Game Studios, seems to have finally seen the light of day. Today you can try out the game for the second time, because at 9:00 AM PT its closed beta test have begun. You can access them by pre-ordering the game on Amazon store or Steam. You can also signup here and hope to be selected to check out the title. The testing period will last until August 2 at 11:59.
In case you've already signed up and haven't received an invitation, don't despair. The first testers will be selected soon after New World's beta is available and Amazon has promised that other "passes" will be regularly distributed among the players in the next two weeks.
If you're unlucky and don't want to make a blind purchase, don't worry - Amazon enables users to stream New World and publish gameplay. We can expect that in the coming days the web will be flooded with materials that will enable us, at least to some extent, to form an opinion about the title.
It is worth noting that some time ago the community acquired serious concerns about New World. All due to people testing the alpha version of the title, who reported the existence of paid items that increase the number of experience points (so-called boosters) or enabled fast travel. Fortunately, in an interview with Eurogamer, the game's creative director David Verfaillie stated that Amazon Game Studios has heard the voice of the community and will make efforts to ensure that microtransactions allow only for the purchase of cosmetic items and do not cause a situation in which who pays more, will be better off.
Finally, an important note - if after a few hours with the new MMORPG you decide that the title is for you and decide to pre-order it, keep in mind that your progress will not be transferred to the full version of the game. The game itself, unless plans change again, should launch on August 31.
While we wait for the beta tests to begin, you can check out our impressions of New World in the link below.
