New Shots From the Set of Uncharted
The first days of 2021 brought fans of the Uncharted series new shots from the upcoming movie adaptaion. The objects presented in them may reveal something about the movie's plot, which is still kept secret.
Info on the movie adaptation of the adventures of Nathan Drake (played by Tom Holland) is delivered rather scarcely. On January 1, the official Twitter of the Uncharted series posted new photos from the set, signed: "A new year. A new adventure awaits".
The new materials from Uncharted movie show two adorned crosses-keys, the way they are used, maps, and a statue in whose raised hand there's clearly a spot put something. As you can see, the artists are very keen to spark our curiosity without revealing too much.
Well, they succeded. The photos have made me put forward a theory, but I ask you to treat it only as a curiosity. Looks like the main characters will be looking for keys that look like patriarchal or caravaca crosses. They have two horizontal beams, one of which is usually shorter. It seems that Drake or Sully will use them to open the lock at the bottom of something that looks like an altar.
What is more, the caravaca cross is a popular symbol originating from the Spanish town of Caravaca de la Cruz, where splinters from the cross on which Jesus Christ died are allegedly stored in a reliquary of such shape. For some time, it was protected by the Templars, and then it was brought to the care of Order of St. James of the Sword (a.k.a. Order of Santiago). That's how we get to the statue. The cross visible on it very much resembles the insignia of the latter order. Perhaps the Uncharted film is somehow connected with the relic.
But how does Magellan fit in all this? Some time ago, Nolan North pointed out that the explorer would be mentioned in the movie.
