New Release Date of Far Cry 6 Leaked
Thanks to an update in Microsoft Store, we got to know the new release date of Far Cry 6, the upcoming installment of Ubisoft's popular FPS series.
Microsoft Store's game profiles often reveal important information before publishers and developers officially do so. The most recent example was provided by Far Cry 6's card in the store, telling us that the release is scheduled for May 26, next year.
As a reminder, the game is hcoming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PS5 and the streaming service Google Stadia. The title was initially scheduled to debut on February 18, 2021, but a few weeks ago it was announced that the release was delayed. At that time, no new deadline was provided, the devs only stating that the debut would take place next year, i.e. from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Postponing the game's debut to a later date was forced by problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The development team had to switch to remote mode of operation, and this slowed down the work.
Ubisoft hasn't officially announced a new release date yet, so probably someone working at Microsoft Store got a bit ahead of themselves. The revealed date may soon disappear from the store's website, so just in case we made a screenshot.
Of course we have to take into account the possibility that the new release date is only an error. However, such leaks from Microsoft Store usually turn out to be true.
