As it is commonly known, the action of Fallout 4 takes place in and around Boston. However, one may eventually get bored of the vicinity of this American city, especially if we spent a lot of hours in the game. Fortunately, the community comes to the rescue, which, as befits an RPG from Bethesda, is very active and creative. Part of it is a pretty big international devteam that has been working on the Fallout: Miami project for over two years.
The first time we've heard about Fallout: Miami was in 2018. As the title suggests, the mod will enable us to visit the southern part of Miami Beach in Florida and learn how that community functions several hundred years after the nuclear war. But that is not all. Its creators will offer new tasks, music, models, and much more. So it's no secret that this is an extremely ambitious project and it's no wonder that the work on it has taken so long. Fortunately, it is proceedig without major disruptions, even in the face of current global situation. Recently, the devs release a video on their website, presenting a small glimpse of the progress made in recent months. You can watch it below.
The latest video published by the creators of Fallout: Miami starts with a short presentation of a new music piece, specially composed for the mod by Garrett Beelow. It will be played during exploration of the remains of Bayshore.
In the further part of the video, we get a small glimpse at some of the factions that we will encounter in the mod. We are talking about a mysterious, infamous group wearing coconut masks; slaves from Sunshine Cove residing at Sunshine Hotel & Casino, led by one Gabriel Goodman; and dangerous Rovers, who live near the pier and restaurants on a pirate ship. Below you can see concept arts presenting these gangs.
Additionally, the material presented by the creators shows signs that are to appear in the city centre and new models of plants, a screenshot showing the interior of the Cuban Liberation Museum, as well as a drawing where we can see a design of a gas station. Here they are:
Of course, this is only part of what the creators of Fallout: Miami managed to prepare in the past weeks. However, they indicated that they only want to show things whose shape is very close to their final versions which will appear in the mod. This approach gives them the comfort of being able to quietly prepare and changing various elements without having to explain later why they looked different in the final build.
So far, there are plans to release Fallout: Miami only for the PC version of Fallout 4. This will happen in an undefined future. However, the authors point out that some things from the project may be released on Xbox One as a standalone mod.
