New Prince of Persia Designer Dreams of Zelda Spin-off

A spin-off of The Legend of Zelda is the dream project of one of the creators of Princeof Persia: The Lost Crown. Meanwhile, new leaks have hit the web regarding the debut of the Nintendo series in LEGO form.

The return of "The Prince of Persia" ended up being quite successful, despite some players' fears about abandoning the classic formula of the series, or rather, returning to it. We were therefore curious that one of the developers of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown would also like to make a new The Legend of Zelda.

Rémi Boutin, senior designer of the new PoP, was interviewed by TheGamer. During the interview, a question was asked about the dream brand for which the developer would like to offer his own interpretation. The Frenchman immediately pointed to Zelda and mentioned that the project could take the form of "a strange spin-off based on Adventures of Link (and, of course, Castlevania)."

The Legend of Zelda 2 from Ubisoft?

Link's second adventure is noteworthy because it's the only side-scrolling version of The Legend of Zelda to date, although players mainly remember it for a different reason. The reference to Castlevania, known as one of the precursors of metroidvania, also speaks volumes.

Of course, these are merely the developer's dreams, which could be disregarded as fantasies. At least on the surface, it's worth noting that Zelda has previously been given a spin-off developed by an external studio. The team that developed this title had no connection to Nintendo, and their game was far more unconventional than a side-scrolling platformer.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft seems to be in very good relations with Nintendo. The French publisher's games were given unique bonuses on the "Big N" platforms, and the company hasn't one but two games with Mario as the main character. Most devs can only dream about it.

It's not entirely impossible that Nintendo would be open to "loaning" Link and Zelda to the Ubisoft team, which has recently achieved success. Naturally, these are only speculations, but such a precedent would be well-received, potentially allowing other developers to access popular Nintendo brands (although it's unlikely to lead to the release of these series on platforms outside the company's consoles).

LEGO Zelda getting closer?

On the subject of unconfirmed information, The Legend of Zelda may receive a LEGO set. The Danish company has been consistently refusing players' suggestions for sets with Link, but last year, several leaks started to emerge, including movies being taken down for "copyright infringement."

The Brickmerge page has new information on this matter. The Great Deku Tree set may be available to players in September and would consist of 2.5 thousand elements (via Reddit / 14141falconfan / Instagram). According to earlier information, traditional figures with Zelda characters will also be found in the box.

Basically, these would be the first elements of this kind featuring Nintendo characters. The Mario sets have large, electronic models. However, upcoming Animal Crossing licensed products will include figures with specially designed heads.

Hoewver, bear in mind that these are unofficial information about the content from a year ago. Even if they were accurate, Nintendo may have made changes since then. We are also waiting for the official announcement of the set.
