New Microtransactions in AC Valhalla Speed Up Character Progression
Ubisoft has introduced new microtransactions in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. From now on, players can purchase boosters to acquired experience points and gold.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla introduced some changes compared to the previous installment of the series, but not everything has departed from the times of Odyssey. Among the things that remained, there was the microtransaction store. In the last update, it has been enriched with a new type of "merchandise": a booster to experience gained in the game. Items in the "Utilities" tab include an option to purchase a 50% bonus to the EXP received on all save game slots for a thousand Helix credits (approximately $10). If you are willing to pay 500 credits more, you will also receive an identical bonus to money.
Game Informer, which was the first to inform about this change, received a comment from Ubisoft representatives. The company justifies the addition of such an option with plans to introduce new content, which will probably be aimed at high-level characters with endgame gear. Bonuses to experience (and gold) will enable users who do not have much time to play to "fully enjoy the world of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla".
Microtransactions are always very controversial, especially when it comes to single player games. Let's just mention the same solution used in Assassin' s Creed: Odyssey, criticized by some Internet users. It should be added, however, that the utilization of these paid bonuses was combined with complains about excessive grind required to make progress. In Valhalla, this problem - although still present - has been significantly toned down and most of the time we can do without side activities. It is also helped by the fact that such tasks are more interesting (thanks to the World Event system, among others), which - as the creators claimed - we owe to the main character. You will find more on this subject in this section of our guide.
