Pokémon TCG Pocket debuted worldwide on October 30, 2024, for mobile devices. After resisting the urge to download it, I eventually succumbed. Farewell, good sleep schedule; it's time to crack open another booster pack and play one more match! Every popular mobile game, from Pokémon GO, to Clash Royale and even Candy Crush Saga, has its share of strange cheats and theories that players are trying to exploit them. It couldn’t be any different with Pokémon TCG Pocket and its Wonder Pick system.
Wonder Pick is a feature that lets you select one card at random from a booster pack opened by another player. This gives you insight into the pack's contents and a chance to pick a card that you want.
Some fans on reddit think there's a trick to Wonder Pick, saying EX cards always show up in the top-right corner. I tried it out, but it seems totally random to me. While I've managed to obtain EX cards from this spot on occasion, it's not a consistent outcome.
Another widespread theory involves using video capture. There’s a one very popular post on X, showing that you can track card movements during the shuffle. By screen recording the animation and playing it back in slow motion, you could theoretically use your visual tracking skills to pick your desired card without fail. But from what I've seen, it's just luck or a clever illusion. The animation doesn’t reflect the actual shuffle. I wish it worked, though!
The last one is the silliest of all. It suggests that pressing the fast-forward button during a Wonder Pick locks the cards in their original positions. But, surprise, surprise... it’s just another myth!
Let’s face it, Pokémon TCG Pocket has no Wonder Pick exploit. All those TikTok or YouTube videos are nothing more than clickbait and gimmicks. Your chances of pulling a specific card are simply one in five. That’s it. Now, who's up for a quick match before we call it a day?
