New Mass Effect Will be Developed Under the Eye of Veterans of the Series
Mike Gamble from BioWare announced that he has returned to the team responsible for the previous Mass Effect games. Also Dusty Everman and Derek Watts, among others, have joined the work on the new game.
One of the more thrilling videos among the many materials shown as part of The Game Awards 2020, was the trailer of a new game from the Mass Effect series. We don't know much about it yet, but apparently it will bring something for fans of the original trilogy. What's more, not only familiar game characters return in the new installment. Mike Gamble, the supervisor of the project, mentioned on Twitter about a few people joining BioWare, who were involved in the previous installment of the series. This took the form of a series of posts published by some of these developers and shared Gamble.
Among the returning veterans were scriptwriter Dusty Everman and main cut-scenes designer Parrish Ley (both of whom have been working on Mass Effect since the first installment). The team was also joined by art director Derek Watts and programmer Brenon Holmes. So it seems that although formally a "new" group of developers (headed by Mick Gamble) is working on the next installment of the series, people partly responsible for the success of the original trilogy will have a lot of say in the works. Will this translate into a triumphant return of the franchise from oblivion, in which Mass Effect has remained de facto since the release of Andromeda? Not impossible, but for now it is too early to judge.
