New Lords of the Fallen Sparked Curiosity; CI Games Boasts of Reception
The announcement of The Lords of the Fallen was met with a very warm reception from gamers. The game's satisfied publisher, CI Games, summed up the positive reception of the trailer in an infographic.
Last week's gamescom 2022 Opening Night Live closed with a trailer and gameplay trailer of Dead Island 2. It certainly wasn't a bad choice, but an equally good decision might have been to crown the show with the trailer of The Lords of the Fallen.
The publisher of this game - Polish company CI Games - boasted today on Twitter, that the game's announcement was met with a very warm reception from players. The reception is summarized in the infographic below.
Within a week, the trailer of the upcoming game from Hexworks was viewed 6.7 million times (adding up all its reposts, not just the official one). Moreover, it received 93.3% of thumbs up.
Another indicator of the popularity gained by the game's announcement is the number of people who added it to their wish list on Steam. The chart on the infographic shows that about 30% more users of Valve's platform did so in a seven-day interval than in the nine months between the announcement and the release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 (also released by CI Games).
A similar percentage of IGN readers were said to have pointed to The Lords of the Fallen as the most interesting game of those announced at gamescom 2022. In turn, some Internet users supposedly stated that the trailer for this game is one of the best in recent years.
In other words - a considerable hype has been generated. The question is whether the game from Hexworks will live up to it and meet the expectations of players. As a reminder, let me add that later this year we are to see gameplay from The Lords of the Fallen. Perhaps that's we will learn at least the approximate release date of this title, because for now we only know that it is to come out for PC, PS5 and XSX/S next year.
