Lords of the Fallen Patching Continues; Major Update Improves Optimization and Brings Changes to PVP/PVE Modes
Lords of the Fallen has received a major update, described as „important.” The patch, numbered 1.1.326, not only fixes numerous glitches, but also improves gameplay.
October's debut of Lords of the Fallen was not one ideal, far from it in fact. The work of the Spanish-Romanian studio Hexworks, owned by CI Games, faced considerable technical issues that affected the reception of the highly anticipated reboot of the 2014 game.
Fortunately, critical feedback from the community did not clip the developers' wings. They immediately got down to repairing their title. The result of their efforts is, among other things, the latest big patch.
Update 1.1.326 eliminates the most annoying glitches and introduces further optimization fixes. We are mainly talking about the large performance drops that occurred while in Umbral.
In addition to technical issues, Hexworks has paid a lot of attention to gameplay. The fruit of this is a new system for targeting the enemy and focusing all your attention on them (the camera keeps the enemy in the center of the screen). According to the information the developers provided on Steam, this option has been set as the default.
In addition, changes in the balance of PVP/PVE modes have been introduced. Taking into account the feedback from the community, the developers have first addressed the most powerful incapacitating spells and ranged abilities. The current scaling changes do not affect the PVE mode. More PVP/PVE modifications are expected soon.
Some players also complained about the poor difficulty balance of boss fights. As a result, the developers reviewed them and made changes in this aspect as well.. Some of the behaviors of the main opponents, their endurance points and the damage dealt have been changed.
Another feature that was introduced to the game with update 1.1.326 is the support for latest version of DLSS 3, which players can manually activate using a special command (-DLSSFG) along with Frame Generation. Hexworks has indicated that the solution will be enabled by default for all owners of Nvidia's 40-series GPUs only after it is proven to be fully stable.
