New Hotfix for Baldur's Gate 3 Makes It Easier to Access Important Items
With the start of the new year, another patch has arrived for Baldur's Gate 3. The hotfix, numbered 16, eliminates minor problems and adds new features to Larian Studios' hit game.
Baldur's Gate 3 fans, keep your ears open as we bring you more good news. Larian Studios announced on Steam that a new hotfix 16 has been released. The update introduces quite a lot of "goodies" to the game.
One of the new features is access to items "hoarded" during the game, even if they are currently in the camp chest or in the inventory of a companion who is not taking part in the action.
In addition, the developers have eliminated the most common problems leading to game freezing, minor visual glitches and gameplay system errors.
The creators also emphasized that they are working on ensuring that users playing the game on Mac OS receive updates at the same time as users of other platforms.
Besides, the patch:
- provides additional potions for talking to animals in the epilogue;
- eliminates errors related to low texture resolution appearing during longer sessions;
- removes the problem with fast startup;
- cracks down on the game freezing during changes to VSync settings;
- eliminates the error preventing the game from being saved (error 701, game freeze);
- fixes destruction animations that were not working correctly.

Larian will soon fix the issue with saved game states on Xbox consoles.
But that's not the end of the good news. The director of Larian Studios announced via X that Microsoft's coders have finally found the cause of the bug that caused Xbox users to lose their saved progress in Baldur's Gate 3. Owners of these consoles can expect the problem to be solved soon.
