New Details About The Acolyte Clarify Confusion Surrounding Cast

The Acolyte is undoubtedly one of the most mysterious projects to hit the small screens in the near future. The intriguing Star Wars show was first unveiled in April 2023 at Star Wars Celebration in London. And although the teaser shown there was not officially released, it leaked online a few months later, causing considerable confusion among fans.

This was due to the fact that the footage showed the actors in roles different from those with which they were initially linked. So where did the conflicting reports come from? Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie.com) found some answers.

The industry insider famous for his access to verified sources claims that earlier rumors that Amandla Stenberg is playing two characters are true. The actress, known for such films as Everything, Everything or The Hate You Give, allegedly portrays twin sisters separated at birth and descended from the Sith.

The main character is supposed to be the "evil" sister, who is trained by the Sith to be an assassin. Her task is to eliminate the character played by Carrie Anne Moss.

Star of The Matrix plays a Jedi master known for using only martial arts on the battlefield. Stenberg's character therefore decides to hone her skills to be able to defeat her opponent without using a lightsaber.

Richtman also referred to the character played by Manny Jacinto. Although the leaker does not have detailed information about his role, the actor is said to portray a character with two personalities - good and bad.

It is worth mentioning in passing that one of the stars of The Acolyte - Dafne Keen - revealed some time ago that the series is to focus on the Sith infiltrating the Jedi Order.

The Acolyte is set to debut on Disney+ in 2024. An official release date for the show has not yet been revealed.
