How Migration Works in The Isle
Many people are confused by the recent mechanic introduced to The Isle – Migration. In this guide we will tell you everything about it.
The Isle is a unique multiplayer survival game. In this title we do not control people but dinosaurs. Your task is to survive as long as possible. The Isle is still in early access, it means that it is not finished. Developers fix various problems and add new content. One of the recent updates - 0.12.51.02 – introduced the Migration mechanics. Let’s talk about it.
How Migration in The Isle Works
Migration is a feature introduced to make things a little bit livelier in the game. This addition forces herbivores to move to find some food. It changes gameplay, as dinosaurs have to travel more – herbivores need to find food and carnivores have to find them. If meat eaters know the map and migration spots well, they are also able to eat a lot thanks to new mechanics.
Herbivores can find migration zones easily, to do that you need to use Smell. At the top of the screen you will be able to see feet. They show how close you are to the zone and in what direction you should travel. If the indicator is getting wider, you are in a good spot.
Of course, once you are at the migration zone, you will be able to find food proper for your diet. The zone lasts only for a given time, though, or to the point when most of the food is eaten. Once it happens, you will have to move forward to another zone.
The Isle - Migration Problems
While the premise of Migration zones was to spread players, the situation is quite different. Fans report that 90% of the map is empty because all dinosaurs gather in the same place, as they are traveling to the same spots. What is more, AI and plants also spawn mostly in these spots.
Sadly, it is not the end of player problems, if you are unlucky and appear in the wrong place, you may have to travel to the migration zone for a long time, or even starve, before you manage to find it.
