Neo Berlin 2087 Looks Like Budget Deus Ex Copycat; Trailer Available
Developers from Elysium Game Studio have shared a new trailer for Neo Berlin 2087. The game looks like it draws handfuls from recent installments of the iconic Deus Ex series, but so far it does not excite the community.
Neo Berlin 2087 - the work of the small studio called Elysium - is an sci-fi action thriller RPG with shooter and stealth elements, a cyberpunk story set in a dark vision of Berlin. Its main character is a detective with exceptional abilities to understand human behavior.
On paper, the game looks interesting to say the least. In action, it also comes off interestingly, revealing gameplay inspirations taken from recent installments of the Deus Ex series (these are clearly visible, especially in the earlier video from 2021, when the project was still titled Shadow of Conspiracy: Section 2). Unfortunately, the new gameplay trailer recently made available online, now as Neo Berlin 2087, has not aroused much enthusiasm among the gamers. Was it rightfully so? Find out for yourself by watching the footage below.
The video on YouTube has seen numerous comments from viewers, who on the one hand praise Neo Berlin 2087 for its nice graphics (thanks to Unreal Engine 5), while on the other hand pointing out that the game clearly reveals that it is created with a severely limited budget.. Their attention has also not escaped noticeable frame rate drops. Here are some sample opinions:
"I've never seen a game that is so graphically impressive, yet looks like it was created on a $20 budget."
"The graphics are so phenomenal that I can count the frames."
"An amazing trailer of Metahuman [Unreal Engine 5 technology for creating photorealistic characters - ed. note]. At 10 frames per second."
"It's good that Sony allows student game developers to publish their university projects on this channel."
In conclusion, the developers of Neo Berlin 2087 still have a long way to go - and probably the work will not come to an end soon, given the scale and ambition of the project and the fact that it does not yet have even an approximate release date set. The title is heading to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
