Tom Cruise is not only known for memorable roles but also for doing his own stunts. We've seen him jump into abysses, climb high buildings and grab onto taking-off airplanes. Despite being 62 years old, the artist does not plan to slow down or give up on such challenges.

Nathan Fillion has a slightly different approach. Although a few years ago The Rookie star also appeared in scenes where stunt doubles could have replaced him, he now avoids performing in such sequences.

Although The Rookie is full of action scenes, Nathan Fillion no longer happy to do stunts. The reason? Injuries he sustained on set while performing similar tasks. Post-accident pain stop the actor from playing Tom Cruise (via Stuff).

I’m not the guy who wants to do the Tom Cruise stuff at all. I used to be the guy who was super excited about doing my own stunts and then you hurt your back and then you hurt your knee…it starts to lose its luster.

Pain is not the only reason for the actor's reluctance to do his stunts. Nathan Fillion feels responsible for all the people involved in the production of the series.

I have to come to work tomorrow. I have to. I can’t miss it. If I was to sprain my ankle today, a lot of people’s employment is on the line. We are a machine. We can’t stop.

That's why Nathan Fillion leaves stunt feats to professionals who want and can film dangerous scenes.
