Multiple Diablo projects are in the works, Blizzard says
Not one, but a few – this is how many Diablo-related projects Blizzard is taking care of right now. Although nobody knows what they are or when they're dropping, the past seems to hold the answer.
Diablo community manager Brandy Camel, aka Nevalistis, has dropped a bomb on Twitter: Blizzard is working on not one, but several new Diablo projects! "Some of them will take longer than others," said Nevalistis, “but we may have some things to show you later this year."
What exactly are the “new projects?” First, the no-brainer – Diablo 4, which has probably been in the works for quite some time now. Diablo 3 Switch port comes to mind right after that. And then – who knows? Diablo 2 HD remaster? Diablo 1 PlayStation 4 remake?! Possibilities are endless, and before any official announcement drops, we have all the time in the world to play the guessing game.
The “later this year” part probably means BlizzCon (November 2-3, 2018), but perhaps you won’t have to wait that long. First Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls, was announced during Gamescom (this year it begins on August 21), so there’s a small chance you’ll learn something new 3 months ahead of BlizzCon. Just like Nevalistis, “we can't wait for the future!"
And if you feel like revisiting Diablo 3 today, or even better – play it for the first time, you should definitely come and take a look at our comprehensive:
