Multiplayer space combat game Dead Star hits Steam Early Access
Old-school multiplayer space combat game Dead Star from Armature Studio is going to be released as a Steam Early Access game later today. Full version of the game is planned to launch on PC and PlayStation 4 in early 2016.
The upcoming space shooter from indie developer Armature Studio hits Steam Early Access today. Dead Star (do not confuse with Death Star) lets you pilot various space ships in procedurally generated environments and fight against other players for conrol of the location. The game features some old-school elements, such as top-down perspective, 2D movement, and free aiming. Check out the reveal trailer, posted online back in October:
Dead Star is now far in development, featuring a dozen space ships, three dozen different layouts with various objects, four random events, and leaderbords. However, there are still some balance tweaks, game modes and other challenges before the developers – 1.0 version should appear some time in the early 2016.
While in Early Access the game will be available with a 25% discount. You can also pre-order it on PlayStation 4 for $14.99. By the way, Dead Star’s PlayStation Store page says the title is expected to launch on 30 April 2016.
