Under normal circumstances, the addition of a multiplayer mode to an acclaimed naval strategy game like Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts would be welcomed with enthusiasm. However, Game-Labs studio managed to do it in the worst way possible, provoking the fury of their fans.

The reason for players' dissatisfaction is simple - to have fun in multiplayer, you need to purchase DLC, which costs $14.99.

  1. Paying extra for multiplayer is unusual, and the high price of $34.99 for Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts makes it even more significant.
  2. The players clearly expressed their dissatisfaction. On Steam, the Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts Multiplayer DLC has only 20% positive reviews, which the service categorizes as "mostly negative."
  3. Fans also conducted a review bombing of Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts. Only 56% of recent reviews praise the game, with most negative ones being posted after yesterday's DLC premiere with multiplayer.

Adding multiplayer as part of a paid DLC not only seems unfair to players but also comes across as an unwise move. Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is a niche game, so the player base isn't big. Multiplayer in any game requires as many participants as possible, so intentionally limiting the community of online clashes in this way is a strange idea.
