We have already had a presentation of Megan Fox in NetherRealm's new fighting game. Now, the developers of Mortal Kombat 1 have released 2-minute footage showing in action Jean-Claude Van Damme, known as the "Muscles from Brussels," in the role of a Johnny Cage skin included as DLC in the game's premium edition. You can watch the video below.

The presence of the Belgian actor is significant in that he was partly the inspiration for the original Cage, one of the main characters of the Mortal Kombat series. After all, Van Damme was to appear in NetherRealm's debut project.

What's more, MK was originally developed as the actor's dedicated game, titled Van Damme: The Arcade Game (in keeping with the convention of many 20th century productions). This was mentioned by brand co-creator Ed Boon a year ago in an interview with Polygon, with this not being the first report on the subject.

The fact that this time the developers managed to get the Belgian to join the cast of the next Mortal Kombat may be a dream come true for them. Besides, Van Damme will be in good company.

In addition to him and Megan Fox as Nitara (a character absent from recent games in the series) MK 1 will feature John Cena as Peacemaker, Anthony Star as Homelander (The Boys) andJ.K Simmons as Omni-Man from Invincible. The latter three will appear in the Kombat Pack 1 DLC.

Mortal Kombat 1 will debut on September 19 on PC, PS5, XSX/S and Switch.
