Let's mention that for quite some time NetherRealm Studios has been providing us with promotional materials for the game, in which you can see the refreshed look of well-known fighters. IGN editors have provided also a video showing the initial "fatality" of these characters - it may contain spoilers, so if you want to avoid seeing the murderous combinations before the release, it's better not to watch it..

Let's point out - the devs have already announced the first Kombat Pack, which will introduce, among others, Omni-Man from Invincible, Peacemaker from the DC universe or Homelander from The Boys. In addition, another guest will be Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Official release of Mortal Kombat 1 will take place on September 19. The game will be available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
Hot time for fighting game fans
It can be said that the true golden era of fighting games has arrived. Earlier on we got Street Fighter 6, which also received very good reviews (the average from reviewers for the PS5 version on Metacritic is 92/100). Now comes Mortal Kombat 1, followed by Tekken 8 (January 2024).
Of course, these are the most talked-about fighting games premiering this year. Fans of the genre can still expect such titles as Project L, King of Fighters XIII for PS4 and Switch, or Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising.
