(Anti)superheroes Galore Confirmed in Mortal Kombat 1 Trailer
We have learned the contents of the first DLC for Mortal Kombat 1. It will add six new characters, including such notables as Homelander, Peacemaker and Omni-Man.
Mortal Kombat 1, the latest installment in the hit fighting game series, promises to be one of the major releases of the second half of this year. In keeping with the traditions of the series, the game will receive a number of expansions with new characters. The first of these has just been officially revealed.
- The first Kombat Pack will offer six additional characters.
- Half of them are to be fighters well known to fans of the series - Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda.
- The remaining three are characters from different superhero franchises. Among them will be Homelander from The Boys, Peacemaker from the DC Comics, and Omni-Man from the comics and animated series The Invincible.
- Homelander and Peacemaker will be based on versions of these characters as they appeared in the TV adaptations of the comic books. However, it is not known whether they will be voiced by the actors reprising their roles from the TV versions, namely Anthony Starr and John Cena. Instead, it has already been confirmed that Omni-Man will be voiced by J.K. Simmons, like in the animated series.
- It is worth recalling that the first Kombat Pack will also include an alternative skin for Johnny Cage, which will make him resemble Jean-Claude Van Damme, which is funny because this Belgian actor was the main inspiration for Cage during the creation of the first installment of the series.
Kombat Pack will be included in the premium version and collector's edition of the game. The DLC will also be available for purchase as standalone item.
Recall that Mortal Kombat 1 is headed for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The release will take place on September 19, this year.
The last few installments have received a rich selection of DLC with new characters, many of which came from other brands. For example, this expanded the character roster in Mortal Kombat 11 with notables as John Rambo, RoboCop, Terminator T-800, Spawn and Joker. As you can see, Mortal Kombat 1 will continue this tradition.
