Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Release Date Revealed
We've learned new details and the release date of the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter: Rise. Interestingly, the expansion will be released simultaneously on Switch and PC.
For more than three months, monster slaying fans have had to wait for details on Monster Hunter: Rise - Sunbreak, first announced at The Game Awards 2021. During yesterday's event dedicated to the MH series Capcom finally shed some light on the matter. At the same time we got to know the release date of the expansion. It will debut simultaneously on Switch and Steam on June 30, 2022.
Storyline
The story in Sunbreak will take place directly after the events from the base game. Monster hunters will receive a request for help from Dame Fiorayne. They will set off to a distant coastal kingdom threatened by the Three Lords - fanged wyvern Lunagaron, elder dragon Malzeno and completely new monster Garangolm, which uses its fists and body to deliver combos of devastating blows.
The hunters will be based at Elgado Outpost. Its inhabitants are to conduct research on the abnormal activity of monsters plaguing the kingdom, as well as strive to restore peace. What follows - will offer us to perform a number of tasks of Master Rank, which traditionally for the series will come down to killing beasts.
New monsters, items and combat techniques
Monsters in Monster Hunter: Rise - Sunbreak are a plenty. In addition to the three aforementioned beasts, several community favourites will return, including Bishaten - specifically the Blood Orange Bishaten subspecies - or Voltaic Astalos.
There will of course be more new beasts. Players, however, will not be at a loss, because the creators will prepare for them new and powerful weapons, as well as new techniques for fighting with a wirebug.
