Mod Toolkit Created for The Witcher 3
Radish is the common name for a set of mods and dedicated tools that enable fans to build their own locations and quests in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The quests can also be enriched with original movie cutscenes and dialogue sequences.
In May it will be 4 years since the release of The Witcher 3. Despite that, the game is still popular among players. Many enthusiasts of Geralt's adventures are still working on further optimizing and improving the look of the title or introducing completely new elements to it, sometimes even attracting the attention of CD Projekt RED. Nexus Mods launched Radish community modding tools, a comprehensive set of mods and tools developed by The Witcher 3 community appeared on Nexus Mods. The toolkit can be used to create completely new quests, dialogue scenes, animations, cut-scenes and locations, as well as to quickly change existing game elements.
The developers of Radish community modding tools have published a trailer for the package, in which we can see some of the available tools in action. In addition, they also posted a video footage showing an example of a new quest created by the toolkit, titled Escaping the Cage. Geralt passes through a mysterious portal and is trapped in a small uninhabited archipelago. The quest can be downloaded here.
For proper operation, Radish requires us to install the Blood and Wine and Heart of Stone DLC. It is worth noting that the toolkit is not intended for beginners. In order to take full advantage of it, we need to have an excellent knowledge of the structure of the game files, as well as the various challenges associated with creating modifications. In return, we get a huge range of options to exploit our creative potential.
Of course, amateur toolkits are far from the professional tools used by CD Projekt RED, but the creators of Radish expect close cooperation from fans and are open to any suggestions. They also strongly encourage the community to prepare documentation and guides for less experienced modders. This means that in the coming years we should probably expect a lot of interesting fan projects based on The Witcher 3, on a similar scale as those currently being prepared on the basis of the Fallout series, The Elder Scrolls or Gothic 2.
