Minecraft - Pickaxe Race Shows Differences in Quality

An unusual race conquered the Minecraft sub-forum on Reddit. More than 100,000 fans liked a video showing... comparison of pickaxes.

If you have ever tried to enter a community associated with any video game, you are probably familiar with the idea of so-called tierlist. Summaries of items, characters, cards, etc. in terms of effectiveness are an integral part of any fandom, as are long, often fierce discussions about the superiority of "item A" over "item B" and vice versa. For some, verbal arguments are not enough, and they use a variety of visualisations. These people will probably be the target of the pickaxe race from Minecraft, another (this time modest) project of one of the fans of this popular title.User Quikenkwak posted a video on Reddit, showing the differences in efficiency between the six available variants of probably the most iconic tool from Mojang studio's game.

The rules of this unusual competition were very simple. Six pickaxes (stone, wood, gold, iron, netherite and diamond) had to destroy the same number of blocks to reach the finish line. The video attracted a large number of interested parties and - to the surprise no one - the users quickly got into a discussion about the advantages of the diamond, netherite or even golden pickaxe (which did not finish even half of the race, even though it initially left the competition far behind), taking into account the special effects of potions, spells etc. As a result, the video already has over 112,000 likes and is the fifth most popular thread on Minecraft sub-forum on Reddit.
