There's Hope for Might and Magic 10; Ubisoft is Looking Into the Matter
The single-player campaign block in Might & Magic X: Legacy is not an intentional decision, but an „unforeseen glitch”. This is according to Ubisoft, which assured that the team is considering „all available options”.
Might & Magic X: Legacy caused a lot of problems for Ubisoft recently, because three weeks after disabling the DRM servers, the company still has not solved a serious bug that in practice makes it impossible to play the game. Only now (after a flood of negative reviews on Steam) the French publisher addressed the issue. Ubisoft's representative assured in a statement for Eurogamer that the company is still considering "all available options".
Such wording does not guarantee that Ubisoft will actually solve what is, as it was described in the message, the unexpected problem with the game. As a reminder: in early June, the company shut down the servers associated with Might & Magic X: Legacy and other older and not very popular productions. The problem is that this game uses a DRM protection, which requires servers to confirm the game's authenticity. The same ones that have been shut down by Ubisoft.
The situation is bizarre not only because this problem blocks access to almost all of the content for single player (we can play only the first act of the story campaign). The strangest thing is that the players themselves quickly found a solution. Just make small changes to the files, which we wrote about last month. Meanwhile, Ubisoft not only still hasn't provided an official hotfix, but only recently blocked the sale of the - shall we say - flawed product. It remains to be hoped that the situation will change for the better, and sooner rather than later.
