Microsoft Presents the Future of Human Interaction
Microsoft Mesh is a platform that could transform human interaction. During Microsoft Ignite, we saw a vision that will make remote working even easier, and we'll lose another reason to leave the house.
During the recent Microsoft Ignite event, Alex Kipman, responsible for Kinect and HoloLens in Microsoft, presented a new mixed reality (MR) platform - Microsoft Mesh. It is to take teleconferencing to a new level and bring it closer to face-to-face meetings.
The platform will enable us to not only to interact with photorealistic holograms, but also joint work on advanced 3D models. One of the advantages of the solution is to be available on multiple devices - tablets, smartphones, PCs and virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) goggles.
According to Microsoft, initially we will be represented by avatars, but in the future each user will be able to perform a "holoportation" and show themselves to others in the form of a realistic and naturally behaving hologram. Microsoft Mesh uses Azure infrastructure, which, according to the creators, will provide both high level of security for meetings, as well as great capabilities of the platform.
All we can do now is to wait for our hologram, and then we can comfortably sit on the couch and browse the news on our favorite website, nodding every now and then during the next boring meeting.
