Marvel's Avengers Will Get Free Update From PS4 to PS5
PlayStation 4 version of Marvel's Avengers will be compatible with PS5. Owners of Sony's latest platform will be able to download a free update, which will offer two graphic display modes - one focusing on visual quality and the other on performance.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- PS5 owners who have bought Marvel's Avengers on PS4 will be able to download the free patch;
- The patch will offer two display modes, one focusing on visual quality and the other on performance (60 fps and dynamic 4K resolution).
Marvel's Avengers - an action adventure game from Crystal Dynamics that will enable us to play as superheroes from the Marvel universe - will receive an update on the PlayStation 5 console. The patch will offer two game modes - one focusing on the quality of the graphics and the other on the performance. The patch will be free to all PS4 version owners.
"As gamers, we sometimes want every ounce of power put into extra graphics features to achieve the highest image quality possible. For this, Marvel’s Avengers will offer an enhanced graphics mode on PS5. At other times, we want the most fluid gameplay experience possible. For that, Marvel’s Avengers will offer a high framerate mode on PS5, which targets 60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution," said Gary Snethen from Crystal Dynamics.
Developers from Crystal Dynamics also announced that Marvel's Avengers will use adaptive DualSense pad triggers, as well as the PS5's 3D audio capabilities. The developers also remembered to compliment the super-fast SSD, which will be installed in Sony's latest console.
"Without any optimization work, the loading and streaming of Marvel’s Avengers improved by an order of magnitude on PS5. When optimization is complete, loading content will be nearly instant, allowing players to seamlessly jump into missions anywhere in the game world. And as Iron Man flies through content-rich levels, higher resolution textures and mesh will stream in instantly, maintaining the highest possible quality all the way to the horizon," said the developer.
