- The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will be made available on the same day.
Marvel's Avengers will hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on March 18, 2021 along with the game's next update - Operation: Hawkeye - Future Imperfect. Owners of PS4 and Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade to next-gen for free.
During yesterday's broadcast, Crystal Dynamics revealed the release date of the next update for Marvel's Avengers, which will add new playable character, Hawkeye, along with his missions and enable us to face Maestro. The update, like the previous one, will be free.
It was also revealed what we can expect from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version. The game will run in dynamic 4K resolution (1440p on Xbox Series S), offering gameplay in 60 fps. The studio is also promising very quick load times thanks to SSD, which is great news considering how long levels take to load on PS4 and Xbox One.
On top of this we get improved 3D model quality, better textures, a more extensive damage system and greater draw distance. The PS5 will use the DualSense controller, although this aspect was not specified. Also confirmed is support for PS4 and PS5 owners to play together, and Xbox One and Series X|S separately. Unfortunately, PC was not included in the cross-play option.
