Marvel's Avengers Bug Reveals Player IP Addresses During Streams
Marvel's Avengers bug causes PS5 streamers to unwillingly reveal their IP numbers to viewers. A hotfix is on its way, expected to be released this afternoon.
- A bug reveals IP adresses of players streaming Marvel's Avengers;
- The issue affects only the PlayStation 5 version of the game;
- A fix is expected to be released today around 8 AM PT.
Crystal Dynamics scored a major blunder. The latest patch (1.8.0) for Marvel's Avengers reveals the IP adresses of PlayStation 5 players while streaming. The numbers are simply displayed on the screen during the stream.
The issue only affects users playing on the PS5. The developers have already been notified of the situation and promised a fix. Until then, they are asking PlayStation 5 owners to refrain from streaming Marvel's Avengers.
Fortunately, PS5 streamers won't have to wait long for the problem to be fixed. The developers are already working on a fix and it will be released today around 8 AM PT.
This is a bad time for this kind of slip-ups, because fans of Marvel's Avengers are currently taking part in the Cosmic Cube event, which was launched by the aforementioned update 1.8.0. As part of the event, a new sector with villains has been made available and some missions have been changed.
Marvel's Avengers was released on September 4, 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia. The versions for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 were released on March 18, this year.
