Black Panther Joins Marvel's Avengers; Roadmap Revealed
Square Enix presented its long-term development plans for Marvel's Avengers. The game will feature new events, missions and Black Panther.
- New content has been announced for Marvel's Avengers;
- The game will be expanded with 5 free DLCs;
- The title will feature new heroes, missions, events and enemies.
Despite the very poor launch recorded by Marvel's Avengers, Square Enix continues to invest in the game. During the online event called Square Enix Presents a roadmap for long-term development was presented. The company is trying to meet the expectations of the players. The title will be enriched with new events, missions and cosmetic changes. Black Panther and new story content will also be added to the game.
The first stage on the game's new development path is today's release of a free DLC adding the character of Hawkeye. Later in the spring, we'll receive updates called The Tachyon Anomaly and Red Room Takeover. The first of them will enable us to play missions with up to four of the same characters. So the players will be able to go into battle with a group of Thors or other favorite heroes. Playing in such teams will also mean special rewards. Red Room Takeover, on the other hand, will focus on the character of Black Widow. New missions will enable the Avengers to face the dangers of the eponymous Red Room, plus introduce the character of Yelena Belova, who will appear in the upcoming Black Widow movie.
Three more free expansions are planned for the summer and beyond - Cosmic Cube, Wasteland Patrol and War for Wakanda. The first two will introduce new missions to the game. One of them will focus on the Cosmic Cube threat. The second DLC will introduce a new type of challenge called War Zone.
However, the most important seems to be the last of the announced updates, namely War for Wakanda. It will introduce the Black Panther to the game, new outfits, location, enemies, and a faction. The DLC is also associated with new story content, which will focus on the king of Wakanda. In new missions, the hero, together with the Avengers, will have to fight off an invasion of his country led by Ulysses Klaw.
In addition, Crystal Dynamics is constantly working on fixes to bugs that appear in the game. New Omega missions will also be added over the coming months. The devs also announced the introduction of costumes inspired by Marvel Cinematic Universe to the title. All of the above information was published on an important day for the game for another reason. It was today that Marvel's Avengers became available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
