Developers of upcoming action RPG Lords of the Fallen, i.e. CI Games-owned studio Hexworks, have given an interesting interview to the editor of Wccftech. Thanks to this, we finally learned what graphic modes will be available in the console version of the game.

The console versions will offer two graphics options to choose from:

Mode:

Frame rate:

Resolution:

Performance (performance mode)

60 fps

1080p

Quality (quality mode)

30 fps

1440p

This means that even when playing at 30 fps you won't get true 4K on consoles.

Describing these modes, the devs say they will be available on "both consoles." However, we're curious to see how the situation will play out on the Xbox Series S, which is weaker device than the Xbox Series X.

Devs praise Unreal Engine 5

In the interview, the developers also talked about the advantages of using Unreal Engine 5 to power Lords of the Fallen. The devs are particularly pleased with the Lumen technology, which generates all lighting in real time. It significantly simplifies the design of levels, as small changes in their architecture do not require the creation of light maps of locations from scratch.

Developers also praise improvements in the animation system and the Chaos physics engine, which is useful for simulating the behavior of clothes. All these features made working on Lords of the Fallen was easier and the developers had more time to make the game better.

As a final reminder Lords of the Fallen is heading for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, and will be released on October 13, this year.
