Tekken is undoubtedly one of the most important fighting game series, so it's not surprising that the latest, eighth installment is heavily promoted in the media. Hiring actor Brian Cox, known for his role in Succession, to narrate the history of the series was a notable example of this. Yesterday, Tekken 8 received a very atmospheric live-action trailer that was clearly well-received by fans.

Atmospheric trailer of Tekken 8

Bandai Namco's YouTube channel featured a live-action trailer promoting Tekken 8. The video starts with two men preparing for a fight, touching foreheads to demonstrate their superiority over their opponent and their readiness for battle. Upon witnessing this, one of the reporters responded by joining the warriors in the same gesture. After that, others joined as well.

The players leave plenty of positive comments under the video. The comparison to commercials created in the late 90s and early 2000s, which evokes nostalgia in many people, is repeatedly mentioned there.

It's worth noting that the trailer features, among others, Hafthor Julius Bjornson, who was the strongest man in the world in 2018 and whom you may know from his role as The Mountain in the iconic series Game of Thrones. The scene with him starts at the 45th second of the video. This isn't an isolated case of Thor using his image to promote a video game. Previously, the strongman, who measures 6 ft 9", participated in the marketing campaign for Assassins Creed: Valhalla, competing in remote-controlled longship races with other players.

Tekken 8 will launch on January 26. The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. We recently discovered the name of the first DLC character and watched the game's intro. Remember that you can still try out the demo version.
