Not Just Star Wars - Bricktales is a New LEGO Game

LEGO Bricktales is another game starring the famous Danish bricks, this time without the Star Wars-like license.

This year we can play with virtual LEGOs not only in the Star Wars universe. Danish bricks will also have their own game in the form of LEGO Bricktales - a logic adventure game from the creators of the Bridge Constructor series.

The new work of Austrian studio Clockstone Software was presented at the Future Games Show 2022 by LEGO Group and Thunderful Publishing. The trailer is available below.

Amusement Diorama

As the title suggests, Bricktales will be a collection of short stories, loosely connected with the main plot.

  1. As the grandson of a brilliant amusement park owner, we'll have to prevent the closing of the park. To do this we will need happines crystals, which - as the name suggests - can be obtained by helping people. The protagonist will make numerous journeys around the world with a mechanical companion, solving the problems of the local inhabitants.
  2. Locations (divided into five worlds/biomes) will be presented in the form of dioramas built with - how else - LEGO bricks,, which will also be the main tool used to solve puzzles. The latter are to be largely physics-based, for example requiring the construction of a flying vehicle from a limited number of elements.
  3. In addition to the planned puzzles, the game will also offer a free mode, as well as a lot of secrets to discover. Some of these collectibles will unlock new cosmetic items and types of blocks for use in the sandbox.

Release date and hardware platforms

LEGO Bricktales will be released this year. Neither the trailer nor the the official website reveals the target hardware platforms. It's definitely going to Steam, which is confirmed by the title's card in the platform's store.
