Left 4 Dead 2 - Console Release (PS5, PS4, and Switch)
L4D2 will turn 14 this year. Will its enduring popularity bring the title to PS4, PS5 and Switch consoles?
Left 4 Dead 2 is an action game developed and published by Valve, which has become an icon among co-op games. Although the title was released in 2009, it still retains quite a large number of players on PC. Will its enduring popularity bring the title to PS4, PS5 and Switch consoles? That's what you'll find out in this guide.
Left 4 Dead 2 - PS4, PS5 and Switch
Left 4 Dead 2 is a venerable game. Due to this, there is currently no information suggesting that this iconic game will come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch consoles.. So if you are hoping for potential ports then you should cool your enthusiasm.
Of course, if you expect gameplay similar to what is offered by Left 4 Dead 2, there are several alternatives. Among them, two titles stand out:
- Back 4 Blood - the latest work of Turtle Rock Studios so far this year (this team made Left 4 Dead), which in its assumptions does not differ from the aforementioned game. So we play as a group of survivors during the zombie apocalypse, who try to survive at all costs. Unfortunately, this title is only available on PS4 and PS5.
- Zombie Army 4: Dead War - in this case, the gameplay itself looks similar. In up to four-player co-op you eliminate hordes of undead. However, an important difference is the setting - the action of this title is set during World War II. The game is available on PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft console players are definitely better off here. The title was originally released on the Xbox 360 as well, due to backward compatibility Left 4 Dead 2 is therefore also playable on newer devices - Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
