In the latest livestream, Honkai Star Rail has announced that the 5 star unit Dr. Ratio will be given to all players who log into the game from version 1.6 to version 2.1. In this article, we’ve gathered information about this enigmatic scholar as a character in the story and a playable unit.
Dr Ratio in Honkai Star Rail (HSR) - Everything We Know
HoYoverse has already revealed a lot of information about Dr. Ratio, though in the rush of announcements on the developer’s official channels, some players might have missed it. Veritas Ratio has been introduced back on October 31st, as an Imaginary element character following the Hunt Path.
Dr. Ratio is described as an eccentric who sometimes hides his appearance behind a plaster sculpture. He’s a talented, renowned scholar who’s concerned with making knowledge accessible for all. Humorously, that is also the in-universe explanation for Ratio joining the players as a free 5 star character – he’s there to provide the player with a quality education.
During the 1.6 version livestream, the doctor’s full name was revealed to be Dr. Veritas Ratio. He was mentioned as one of the guests on Penacony, as a representative of the Intelligentsia Guild during the Charmony Festival, which will be the central stage for the Penacony arc.
The Guild, in turn, was introduced as the organization “trading knowledge for wisdom, calculating wealth with formulas, and transcending individual limitations through an academic network of shared resources”. As a whole, the Intelligentsia Guild represents the path of Erudition.

According to kit leaks, Dr. Ratio’s kit will be centered around dealing follow-up damage based on the opponents debuffs. The chance to make follow-up attacks is higher the more debuffs the target has. He can also inflict debuffs himself with his Technique and with unlocked Eidolons.
