Leak: STALKER 2 Will Appear on Gamescom 2019
It seems that the upcoming gamescom will provide us with new information about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. One of GSC Game World employees boasted of a visit to Cologne and some studio members were spotted on their way to the fair.
The last few years were not the easiest for devoted fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. After the release of Call of Pripyat in 2009, GSC Game World has closed the shop and despite several announcements, so far we have not received any sequels. The situation began to improve in May 2018 when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced to be in development. This time they weren't just words, because at the beginning of the year we received new teases of the game. Then came the time for artwork, a piece of music, and a declaration that the title will not receive battle royale mode, but will support mods.
However, we have yet to see an official presentation of the game, or even a trailer. Fortunately, this will probably change soon, because it looks like the GSC Game World team is going to the gamescom fair. One of ResetEra users has conducted a minor investigation into this matter and here's what they learned. GSC's level designer Denis Rudoy has uploaded this photo to one of the social networking sites. The addition "ready to gamescom" seems to be enough to close the topic. Someone asked in a commentary whether there would be a stand dedicated to the game in Cologne, to which the answer was only an emote.
Eventually, the post was removed, but as we know, nothing disappears from the Internet. If you think that Rudoy's message is still not enough proof, we have to add that some members of GSC Game World were spotted on the way to gamescom. Every one of them dressed in a T-shirt or sweatshirt with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. logo 2. Everything seems to indicate that in the next few days we will hear a lot more about the game.
The game is to launch in 2021. If the date really turns out to be true, there is still a long way to go before the release. The creators have still not provided information about platforms on which the title is to be published. 2021 seems to suggest a debut on PC, Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 - if S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is to be released on consoles at all. Let's hope we find out everything in the next few dozen hours.
