Leak: Compass Instead of Minimap; Cross-play in CoD: Modern Warfare
A lot of interesting leaks concerning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare have surfaced on the web. According to reports, the game is to replace the minimap with a compass, and offer cross-play between PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
The marketing machine of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the reboot of the popular subseries, has been launched for good. There isn't a day when fans of the series don't learn more and more about the title. Some reports (such as the content of the collector's edition or the return of killstreaks) come directly from the creators, while others reach us in the form of leaks directly from the event organized by Activision. This is also the case with the information that in Cod: MW we'll see a compass instead of a minimap. We must admit that it would be a brave decision on the part of Infinity Ward, because the players got used to the helpful map, which appeared (in one form or another) in the games of the series for years.
However, we must remember that this is not confirmed information, but only a guess of a crowd of fans after seeing a movie circulating on Twitter, which shows (barely) a compass at the top of the screens. On the other hand, it seems highly unlikely that Infinity Ward will suddenly change its concepts and return to the map (unless there is a choice between a map and a compass in the menu). Compass at the top of the screen in CoD: MW is also confirmed by Reddit user who participated in the game show. At the same time he decided to describe the new (although in fact returning) mechanics. Our allies will not be visible through the walls, but a special indicator will inform the player when they are aiming at a team member. A compass with a red dot will show the direction in which the enemies are located, but it is the user who will have to find the opponent and determine their position.
Interesting leaks were also noticed by DSOGaming. According to them, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will support cross-platform gameplay between PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. What's more, the Microsoft console version supports the mouse and keyboard, and the PC has support for a gamepad. The game is supposed to offer a 20 vs 20 multiplayer mode on large maps.
There is also something for lovers of hard music, because another source says that Activision bought a license for Metalica's music. However, DSOGaming recommends that you approach this topic with a great deal of caution. Contrary to previous rumors, during the game show there was no mention of a battle royale mode. The title, despite the large amounts of blood, will not show any dismemberment or excessive brutality on the screen. More information will probably be available today at 10 AM, when the developers will reveal the details of the multiplayer mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will launch on October 25, this year. The title will be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
