Jeff Grubb reports that a new spin-off of the God of War series set in ancient Greece is set to be released in 2025. Unfortunately, the journalist didn't provide more details. Santa Monica studio recently shared this interesting detail on X for the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the God of War series.
Charlie Wen, a Concept Artist for God of War (2005), played a huge role in designing Kratos. His influence on the series is undeniable—but did you know his name is literally in the game?
Look closely at the Blades of Chaos on the original cover art—his name is carved into the handle. A hidden tribute to the man who helped bring the Ghost of Sparta to life - reveal the devs.
For those unfamiliar with the God of War series, let us remind you that the Blades of Chaos have been the main character's weapon since the series' first installment. Forged in the deepest depths of Hades, they are connected with chains that not only bind them to the Ghost of Sparta, but also strengthen him and allow him to attack enemies from a greater distance.
The blades, as well as Kratos himself, are mainly the work of the aforementioned Charlie Wen. The developer once boasted on the internet about one of the first projects for the God of War, featuring a cult weapon, which was made in 2003... on a napkin.
