KOTOR Remake Saved? New Developer Found
There is still hope for KOTOR Remake. According to recent leaks, work on it was supposed to be put on hold, but it is possible that a new studio is now working on the title.
The remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is certainly awaited by many. Unfortunately, there has been no good news about the game lately - according to Bloomberg reports, work on the game has been put on hold. Thus the future of KOTOR Remake has become very uncertain. Until now - it turns out that the game's development could be taken over by Saber Interactive.
Today, Embracer Group, owner of both Aspyr Media (which has been responsible for the remake so far) and Saber, shared a report, which sheds new light on the game's situation.
"One of the AAA projects was transferred to another studio [owned by Embracer Group - editor's note]. This was done in order to keep the quality of the title at a high level. No delays are planned because of this."
Officially, the name of neither the game nor the studio that is now to take care of it was not mentioned. However, all indications are that it is about KOTOR Remake. This may make sense, especially since Saber Interactive previously assisted Aspyr in working on the title.
Release date of the KOTOR remake has not yet been officially announced. Perhaps due to a possible change of studio, work on the title will accelerate. The game is expected to be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S..
