Konami Removes P.T. Support on PS5
Players were asking themselves whether the Silent Hills (P.T.) demo works on PS5. It turns out, it was playable for some time, but got blocked after Konami intervened.
- It seems P.T. worked on PS5 for some time.
- Probably after Konami intervened, Sony blocked the possibility of running the game on the new console.
Silent Hills, also known as P.T., was playable on PlayStation 5 for some time, but probably after Konami intervened, Sony blocked the option to play the demo, which was created by Hideo Kojima and his team in 2014.
Many gamers were wondering if P.T. back ups worked on PS5 (the title was removed from the PS Store). The editors of Next Gen Base decided to check it out. Surprisingly, the demo ran smoothly in backwards compatibility on PlayStation 5.
However, when one of the editors decided to restart the demo of the unreleased Silent Hills a few days later, the game refused to obey and the console displayed a lockout message. Some websites suspected Konami intervened with Sony and asked them to block the game. As you can see, despite the passage of years, the frictions between the Japanese publisher and Hideo Kojima has not diminished.
