Kojima Reminds of P.T. in Death Stranding Director's Cut Easter Egg
Death Stranding Director's Cut has brought new easter eggs. One of them refers to a certain well-known project that never saw the light of day.
The director's cut of Death Stranding brought with it a bunch of new features and changes and, as it turns out, another secret hidden in the game. We're talking about an easter egg most likely referring to P.T., a demo of the canceled installment of the Silent Hill series.

One of the first people who reported this surprise was Suzi Hunter. The Youtuber posted a screenshot on Twitter, showing the beginning of the easter egg sequence. It can be experienced in Sam Bridges' quarters (Private Room) as one of the nightmares (or hallucinations) already present in the basic version of Death Stranding. The new scene includes a ghostly apparition that appears in the shower and begins to twitch unnaturally when approached. A video showing the whole secret was posted, among others, on Reddit.
This wasn't the only horror addition experienced by Hunter, but it was one that caught the attention of gamers. It's not even that the model used in the easter egg was recognized as a Beached Thing (or BT) allegedly based on Hideo Kojima's silhouette. Fans were more moved by the explicit reference to the aforementioned P.T. or, to be more specific, Lisa. Both the attitude and behavior of the character from under the shower are clearly reminiscent of the memorable apparition from 2014.
Of course, the Internet wouldn't be the Internet if gamers didn't immediately start to interpret this as a teaser of sorts. After all, why would Kojima only now add an easter egg referencing a canceled project whose demo disappeared from the PlayStation Store years ago? Surely this confirms a new horror game, the return of Silent Hills, or some other serious and undoubtedly existing venture from the Japanese developer. For now, though, for one's own sake, it's better to treat the easter egg as nothing more than a new secret paying homage to Hideo Kojima's canceled game.
