King's Bounty 2 on PC and Consoles Has Been Announced
1C Entertainment announced King's Bounty 2, a classic turn-based fantasy strategy with RPG elements, the first installment was released in 2008. The game will be launched next year on PCs, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Next year, fans of classic turn-based strategies will have another interesting game waiting for them. 1C Entertainment has announced a full-fledged second installment of the King's Bounty series for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners. The first installment of the series was released in 2008 and drew inspiration from the legendary Heroes of Might & Magic series and the original King's Bounty from 1990. The title was given numerous spin-offs and independent additions, which appeared regularly for six years since its launch.
The new installment of the series will offer not only an improved graphics engine and numerous gameplay changes, but also a whole new fantasy world, which the developer describes as more realistic, like the one in A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The developer's website offers pre-orders for three digital versions of the title - a standard one for EUR 49.99 and two special ones for EUR 58.99 and EUR 84.99, enriched with additional units, items and DLC sets. Developers have also created a game card on Steam, although it does not yet offer pre-orders.
King's Bounty 2 takes us to the fantastic world of Antarctica, on the outskirts of which a mysterious plague is slowly spreading, killing or disfiguring people, plants and animals. The poor souls fleeing the consequences of the war are heading for the kingdom of Nostria, which after many years of prosperity is now on the brink of civil war. During the game, we will play as three different characters, who, through their actions, will influence the shape and future of the kingdom. Developers announced that the campaign will put a lot of emphasis on the decisions made by the players. Some of them will influence the course of the plot and will have serious repercussions. During the game there will be no shortage of difficult moral problems, but more down-to-earth concerns will also be important, such as building friendly relations with the inhabitants of the visited cities.
King's Bounty 2 will be divided into two segments. In the former, we travel across a 3D world observed from TPP, as in many other classic RPG titles. As mentioned above, players control one of the three pre-assigned heroes. Each of them has its own history and character. When we make decisions and perform certain actions during the campaign, we influence the ideas they hold (strength, art, order, and anarchy). They change the way NPCs react to us and shape the world around us.
The second segment of the game consists of turn-based battles, in which our warrior team, consisting of many different units (people, elves, trolls, etc.), is confronted by various opponents. Hexagonal maps are to be larger and more interesting than in the first installment of King's Bounty, offering many previously inaccessible tactical options such as terrain.
