Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Officially Announced. Sequel to Czech RPG Is Large-Scale Project
It has happened. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was officially announced and showcased in a 15-minute video, featuring a delicious trailer and gameplay fragments. The sequel is being developed with much more momentum than the first KCD.
We have finally seen the realization of the long-standing wish of many RPG game fans, and it became practically certain a few days ago. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has been officially announced - below you will see a 15-minute presentation of this title, which opens with a spectacular trailer.
The new game of the Czech studio Warhorse is scheduled to debut this year on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. The game on premiere won't lack Czech dubbing - for players looking for deeper immersion.
KCD2 is clearly being developed on a much larger scale than the first installment, as demonstrated by the involvement of 250 people in its production and the inclusion of two open maps in the game, each twice the size of the world in the first game. The CEO of Warhorse, Daniel Vávra, even jokingly said that the large city of Kutná Hora, which we will visit, is in his opinion "too big."
The developer aims to make the game more accessible to mass audiences. While the plot directly continues Henry's fate from the first part (set in 1403), the story was written in a way that allows new players to easily navigate it.
The combat system has also been adjusted to be easier to learn - and if someone doesn't enjoy fencing (which is still meant to be quite realistic), they can use new long-range attack methods: crossbows or early firearms.
Interestingly, the Warhorse studio still sticks to the CryEngine technology that it used in the first KCD. I hope that this time they will take care of better optimization than in 2018... For more details, I refer you to the Kingdom Come: Deliverance II entry in our Encyclopedia.
